NEBRASKA FOSTER AND ADOPTIVE PARENT ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP
APPLICATION DEADLINE: April 3, 2017
NFAPA offers a scholarship for an adoptive, foster, guardianship or kinship child who wishes to further their education beyond high school or GED. This scholarship can be used at colleges, universities, vocational schools, job training or online learning. The scholarship form is available below. Requirements and submission instructions are listed.
The Lincoln Community Foundation manages over 50 scholarship funds that benefit students across the state of Nebraska. Check their website after January 2017 for more information about their scholarship opportunities. There are generous scholarships offered to students in foster care in the State of Nebraska by the Mildred Fry Scholarship Fund at the Lincoln Community Foundation. Three awards of a minimum of $1,500.00 are available this year to students who meet minimum admissions criteria and plan to enroll in a 2 or 4 year college or university within 6 months of graduation from high school. The National Foster Parent Association (NFPA) has a Youth Scholarship Fund that was established to benefit foster, adoptive and birth children of NFPA members. There is an ongoing need in Nebraska for families willing to share their hearts and their homes with children who require temporary foster care. There is also a need for “forever” families for our waiting children, especially teens, who are available for adoption.
